This machine separates paper from plastic by heating to alter the plasticity of plastics.

Hot Drum Method

The separation unit consists of an electrically heated chromium-plated barrel and an internal hollow rotary drum fitted with scrapers. The scrapers stay in contact with the heated barrel wall, and the two components rotate in opposite directions. A trough is connected to the bottom of the barrel. Raw materials are fed into the machine. Upon contact with the hot barrel, the plastic components melt and adhere to the barrel wall, then are scraped off by the scrapers and fall into the trough. This method can separate over 90% of plastics from paper, and the paper residue content in the separated plastic can be controlled below 1%.

Hot Air Flow Method

This method separates plastic film from paper based on the principle that plastic films shrink under heat to reduce their specific surface area. The mixture of film and paper is delivered to the heating zone, which can be an agricultural grain dryer. Heat turns the plastic into granular form with reduced surface area. The mixture is then sent to an air separator; air flow carries away the paper fibers, while thermoplastic plastic granules settle at the separator bottom. This process achieves nearly complete separation of plastic and paper.Alternatively, the heating zone can be a heating oven equipped with upper and lower mesh conveyor belts that clamp the paper-plastic composite material as it passes through, thoroughly separating paper from plastic.
